Allan became the pastor of Marley Community Church in June, 1985.

Allan's education and theological training began at Judson College in Elgin, Illinois, where he earned his B.A. in Christian Religion and Philosophy in 1978.  Allan earned his Masters of Divinity degree from Northern Baptist Seminary in Lombard, Illinois in June, 1986. 
He was ordained in October, 1986.

Before seminary, Allan worked for Youth for Christ in Ypsilanti, Michigan for four years.

Allan has been married to Mary Jane for 30 years (1975) and they have raised two sons, Kyle and Joshua.
